...you have this great idea in your head, but you just can't seem to get it to work
on paper? I guess that's what they call "an execution problem". LOL There's a
color challenge going on over on the stamping board at
Two Peas and since black, red, and white are some of my favorite colors (especially
together), I thought the challenge would be a piece of cake. I already knew what set I wanted to work with, had it all planned out and everything. But once I started, it just wouldn't flow. No matter what I tried, I couldn't get it to gel and look right. Oh well. A couple hours later and I've decided to just throw something together and call it a night. LOL It seems the more you try to force it, the more it resists you, ya know?
Heart, flowers, and sentiment - Stampin' Up! (From their 'Simply Said' and "All Natural" sets respectively) and dots - Hero Arts (Tiny Jubilee Dots).INKS: Stampin' Up! Real Red (classic) and Memories black (dye). The cardstock scanned a little bit lighter than what it actually is... it really does match with the ink better IRL. Anyway, I've got one other idea in the works for this challenge, so we'll see how that one pans out tomorrow. ;)

Oh yeah, I know what you mean. A lot of times I find it has to do with my color ratios/proportions, if it's a color challenge I'm working on. KWIM? I'm finally getting to the point where I stop trying to fix it and just pitch it and start over, LOL. But this is definitely *not* one for the trashcan...I love ti! I seem to use those same Hero dots on everything...God bless the Stampamajig, eh? ;)
You are SO right, Tami. Originally, I had THREE of those little black/red/white heart blocks, but could not get them to look right on a card - even with the three blocks, it was still missing something. I tried just about every background stamp I own to try and see if it was the background that needed to be jazzed up... I tried ribbon, black CS... I couldn't get ANYTHING to look right! SO, I just slapped some dots on there (can't go wrong with dots ;) LOL) slapped a sentiemnt on there and went to bed. I can see how color ratio and proportion is way off here, but that single little heart block was not originally designed to be on his own. It's an idea that should've worked, but was just off somewhere. *shrugs* Oh well! LOL :)
Thanks for your help, girl. ;)
