Final circle/dot challenge card

It's a really yucky day out today... cold, wet, sleet-y snow.

I was hoping to do a few more cards for the 2Ps circle/dot challenge, but I have just been so busy with other things, and now, I'm sick with a nasty cold. :P So, this will have to be the last one, since said challenge ends today, LOL (click to see larger):

This card doesn't photograph very well. After I finished it the other night, I was so pleased with how great it came out, but once photographed, it just doesn't look the same for some reason. *shrug* I love this wispy flora image from the Stem Silhouettes set offered in last year's holiday mini. The idea for the little, yellow "puffs" is *NOT* mine. I've tried to find who I should credit for that idea... I thought I saved the original card to my hard drive for referencing later, but I can't find it, so I guess I didn't. But my thanks to the person who did come up with that idea! :) I love how it looks - like little tufts of cotton, or dandelions. :)

I was trying to figure out how to make the sentiment into a circle, and used a couple punches to do the top layers, but then when I got to the final black layer, I really wanted to make it into a slide for the ribbon. I knew I had this cute Cuttlebug die that was a round slide, but it just wasn't big enough. I thought to myself, "I wish there was a way I could make it just a wee bit bigger..."

HELLO?!?! I can make a ribbon slide ANY size I want - I've got a Cricut! LOL (Seriously, it took me almost five minutes before I remembered that... DOH!)

Sure enough... one of the cartridges has a circle ribbon slide on it! I fired up the Mama Bug (my new nickname for the Cricut, LOL... and my Cuttlebug is the "Baby Bug" ;)), chose what size I wanted... 5 seconds later, out popped this perfectly cut, perfectly sized, circle ribbon slide. I am IN LOVE with this machine! :D I adhered the top two layers of the sentiment on pop dots, and then threaded the ribbon through the slide and underneath the layers. Hopefully the close up pic will be able to show that. I was kinda bummed that the matting on the slide didn't match the matting on the main image panel (the slide's mats are 1/8th" apart and the main panel's mats are 1/16th" apart), but I was too tired to go back and redo the main image panel all over again. LOL

By the way! I FINALLY figured out how to fix my AutoFocus points on my camera! YAY! :D I was SO relieved when I realized how to fix that.

Also, I wanted to post another public thank you to my sweet friend Jenny, who sent me the most ADORABLE birthday card, which you can see here. Isn't that little cupcake just precious?! :D At first I thought maybe she had used markers to stamp it with, since it's all different colors. But she explains how she did it in her post. ;) And it's perfect for the circle/dot challenge, too! Thank you SO much, Jenny, for remembering me, and most of all for your wonderful friendship. I'm so grateful our paths crossed and I am privileged to call you my friend! :)

Well, I need to get this posted over at the bucket. After that, I haven't decided if I want to sit and stamp or curl up in bed with some hot tea. LOL Decisons, decisions. Thanks for peekin' in today. :)
