Here's another card I made for one of the WCMD challenges held over at SNR. This one was for the "We Three Kings" challenge where you had to use at least three patterned papers on your card. It came together really quickly and would be another great layout for holiday card mass production (click to see larger):
Real easy - just four coordinated papers, a square punch, a chipboard star (could be a simple card stock star), and a stamp. The sentiment was stamped in Cranberry Crisp ink, which was only available in a dye formula, but is actually heat embossed! Just ink your stamp with VersaMark first, then lightly ink it with the dye ink and stamp. Some clear EP and a blast from the heat gun - presto! And embossed image with dye ink. The star was covered with Old Olive card stock and the edges were inked to give a finished look. And for the tool lovers out there like me, you can't go wrong with the Basic Grey chipboard file set. Absolutely worth every penny if you like to work with a lot of chipboard!
So... how about another weekend give-away? The last one was so much fun, I wanted to do another. :)
I have more Hero Arts goodness to share... this fabulous Flower Blossom Border set and the Artistic Leaves set (click photo to see larger)! This time, I'd love to know what your family's favorite holiday dish is. I admit, I'm in a bit of a rut when it comes to our holiday dinners. Since moving away from family over a year ago, and no longer being able to rely on the variety of our potluck style holiday family get-togethers, the entire menu and its preparation is left up to me. And to make it all easier on myself, I tend to just stick to the classics. But I really need to change it up a bit! So just leave me a comment telling me what your most-loved holiday dish is. Only one comment per person, please, and only comments left prior to November 15th, 11:59 PM EST will be considered.
I'll draw a winner (via random.org) sometime Sunday. Can't wait to read the replies! Thanks for stopping by and reading today. Have a great weekend! :)

OH....another giveaway! You are awesome. I make the stuffing for the turkey, it's a hand-me-down recipe from my mum. It has cornbread, sausage meat, orange juice (yes..really!), grated orange peel and lots of sage. I stuff the turkey and make more in casseroles and there's still never enough.
One of our favourite holiday dishes is roasted salmon with herb stuffing. Yum! Good luck in finding a great dish!

We moved far from family a couple years ago and I really miss the big family dinners pot luck style. Last year we made a Rachael Ray dried fruit stuffing, it was excellent. It was so good we will have it again this year.
I already have both sets.. (Embarrassed) :) But I will share something I bring. So easy and sweet... Vanilla Pudding, Cool Whip, Jar of Cherries.. (Yes whole cherries), 2 bananas, can of fruit cocktail, can of mandarin oranges. Make the pudding (large box) per instructions and put everything else in. Yummy and if you don't like any of the fruits you just don't throw them in.
We also live far from family, everyone is in California and we're in Ohio.
Our favorite thing to eat during the Holidays is Apple pie with a crumb topping. It's the only time I bake a pie from scratch.
Hope you have a great weekend!!!
Hi Lisa :)
Love that card!!! How clean and simple it is and such a great way to use paper scraps!!! I see a CASE coming :)
Our favourite family dish is cheesy potatoes. It goes well with Christmas ham or Thanksgaving turkey.
Have a happy weekend!!
Of course everyone in my family loves my grandmother's stuffing recipe. But one dish I have introduced to the menu is mashed potatoes with sour cream, sheddar cheese and chives.
Hello!!!
Hey, I have that paper! Think I'll just have to make a few of these cute cards (the inspiration just keeps coming!!!)
We moved away from all our family and friends too! But 9 years ago (I'm still sad about it)... So, some sweet neighbor friends adopted us during Thanksgiving and I bring garlic cream cheese mashed potatoes! Yum Yum Yum...
And, for Christmas I LOVE prime rib, a baked potato bar, and big salad.. Perfect and very very easy...
:)
No question - my fave holiday dish involves sweet potatoes - yum! But I'm not into the marshmallow-laden kind, I like some some sweetness on them, but just some brown sugar and butter goes a long way for me. We've even done sweet potato fries (not necessarily for the holidays!) - takes a while to cut them up and fry them, but SOO good! Thanks for the opportunity for the giveaway. I'll be reading everyone's answers too. :)
my mom makes a wicked mushroom risotto with tons of real parmaggiano reggiano cheese. It is even a main dish on occassion! Love it!
My mom's crab salad..I love it
Since Thanksgiving is coming up, I
will tell you my family's favorite
dessert for Thanksgiving: crustless
cranberry pecan pie.
I really enjoy your blog!
How awesome of you to have another giveaway! I would have to say that my family favorite Thanksgiving dish are candied yams- delicious gooey yams with melted just right toasted marshmallows on top!
Great card!
This might sound crazy, but my fav holiday item is my mom's 3bean salad. I could eat the whole thing myself! ;-)
For the rest of the family, it's my Jello cream pie. They say it isn't the holidays without it.
My Mom's cranberry salad is a family favorite! Cranberries, raspberry jello, pineapple, pecans, celery, and a bit of sugar! Delicious! My Mom can make it by memory, but I still need to pull out the recipe!
Thanks for the great giveaway!
My favorite holiday dish has to be my Mom's homemade stuffing. Mmmmm.....I can smell it now! :) It is a staple for both our Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners. :)
Our favorite holiday dish on Christmas Eve is Chicken and Noodles and Dumplings. My husband's family did this and now we do it ourselves.
My favorite holiday dish is my corn casserole - it's made with whole kernel corn, cream corn, jiffy mix, cheese, sour cream, butter and some other good stuff and it is ding dang delicious!
My favorite dish is actually a drink. It is a homemade family recipe. Have you ever had a Hot Buttered Rum? Way better than the Lifesavers candy let me tell you. They are rich and decadent. Just wonderful enough to ruin the diet for one at least. I will share the recipe if you would like it. It is an ice cream mixture that you spoon into and mix with boiling hot water and rum (of course)
Yummo...

I guess my family loves to east Turkey as we do not have it much the rest of the year. Turkey and dressing like my mom used to fix. Linda Gerig
My favorite dish is my Mom's praline sweet potato casserole. It is so good! Thank you for the chance to win.
Hi Lisa,
We celebrate Christmas in summer down under, so my favourite holiday dish is a really delicious anitpasto spread and a selection of equally delicious cheeses- YUM :) Something for everyone, cool in the stinkin' hot summer and no having the oven on- brilliant!
The stamps are absolutely gorgeous, thanks for being so generous.
Ooh, the Artistic Leaves set is so pretty!
My favourite holiday dish is from my MIL. It's mashed potatoes, but with a big brick of cream cheese mixed in.
That's such a pretty card! So simple but real nice. We like to eat baked ham with pineapples, maki sushi, ahi poke, chicken long rice, mostly local style foods for the holidays.
Hi Lisa! What a simple card to make when you're in a hurry, and it would work for anything by just changing the papers. Thank you!
Our family is spread all across the country. Years ago, when our boys were little everyone would come to us. We did alot of cooking for 2 days, and then lived on leftovers! First night we'd have a buffet of sliced baked ham, cheesy potatoe casserole, my mother-in-law's baked beans and a fruity jello salad. Then the next day, a traditional turkey with all the trimmings.
Nowadays (the boys are in their 30's and are far far from home!), every holiday is at a different place. But my favorite recipes now are my daughter-in-law's sweet potatoe casserole (it's like dessert: pecans, brown sugar, marshmallows - oh YUMM!), and my hubbie's fresh cranberry sauce, a neighbor's recipe. I could eat it by the gallon!
I know doing the whole food thing is lots of work, but you are creating memories of a lifetime - cherish them!
I love my father-in-law's oyster dressing. He's gone now, and no one in the family can make the dressing taste like his. It's close, but not the same. Wonder if he had put in a secret ingredient he didn't tell us about? :)
Maple glazed carrots...Mmmmm...
It might sound strange, as it's a traditional South African dish - but our favourite is green beans and potatoes, cooked together and mashed up with heaps of pepper ;)
We also live far from my family, everyon is in AZ and we are in CA. We love to bake yam and brown sugar with toasted marshmallow on top. Hope you and your family have a fabulous Thanksgiving!
Growing up, we lived far from relatives so it was the four of us (Mom, Dad, sister, & me)for the meal. We would all work together to make homemade spaghetti or chili. They had to cook for several hours.
That is a terrific choice for a mass production card. Those patterned papers are super.
Well... it's only my and hubby for the holidays and he always works on those days so I usually don't put together anything too big. But, I do like to make pumpkin flan instead of pumpkin pie. A little more healthy and it's made in single serving sizes so less chance of over-indulging.
Hi Lisa,
I love the card, clean and simple as always! Happy birthday to your mom and your son!
I also want to thank you for all the wonderful comments you left for my card and about my daughter. You are a beautiful person inside and out!
My family are all in Taiwan, I sure miss them a lot during the holidays. Our favorite food for the holiday is Chinese Hot Pot. It's very simple, you just have different kind of vegetables and slice meat and you put them into the hot pot and cook them on the table to go with the Chinese BBQ sauce while you chat with your family.
I have both sets of the stamps, so please don't put me into the drawing.
Have a beautiful weekend! Look forward to more of your beautiful creations. :)
thanks for the give away!
Our favorite holiday dish is Sweet Potatoe Souflee- basically mashed sweet potatoes with pecans, brown sugar, butter, cinnamon topping- i add oatmeal & a little flour too. Delicious- almost like dessert during the meal! 2nd fave is cornbread stuffing - as a side dish, not put in the turkey.
Lisa, i'm with you . i love the family classics. nothing like turkey and cranberry. youm! Recently i came across a corn caserole dish on kraft food .com . good luck.
Love the stamps, cannot find them overhere.
Sorry, cannot help you with the Question, my English is not good enough and I cannot cook very well.
Just the ordinary stuff.
Greetings from Belgium.
MY family loves my homemade noodles in turkey broth. I start them the day before so they can air dry. My Grandmother made them and we always looked forward to her noodles. Thanks for the great giveaway. Jill S
Cute Card!
I miss my aunt's banana split cake now that I've moved away. I like to do garlic roasted red potatoes for the holidays instead of mashed. They are much better the second day than mashed.
I'm also not a big dressing fan(gasp!!! I know!) so we usually have corn muffins instead with our turkey.
My brother's secret cranberry sauce....YUM!
Our holiday dinners aren't complete without my mother's cheese potatoes.
Basically twice baked potatoes with butter and cheese added for the second baking. So good and no matter how I try, I can't duplicate hers, much to the dismay of my 13yo ds:).
My family does Mexican things like Posole (Hominy) and Tamales! Thanks for the chance to win these great stamps, love Hero Arts!!!
Hi Lisa,
I have had zero time lately to stamp, much less to blog surf, but tonight I snuck in a little surfing time and I just had to comment on this card -- it is so awesome! I just love the elegant simplicity (not to mention a fabulous idea to use up all my designer paper scraps!). You rock -- as always!

Thank you for your comments... they truly make my day! :)
