Both-Way Blossoms Birthday

Just a real quick post today. Here's one of the only cards I made while on hiatus this summer. It's a birthday wish for my super cool, uber sweet, MEGA-talented friend, Tami. I first met Tami at Two Peas over in the stamping forum. We found we had many things in common when it came to stamping, as well as a penchant to use an abundance of smilies in all of our message board posts... for which neither of us will apologize. LOL ;) :D I have been touched by her generous friendship - not to mention consistently blown away by her amazing talent - ever since.
Here's to you, my friend! :)

Stamps are the retired SU! hostess set, Both-Way Blossoms, colored with a blender pen and the SU! pastels, cut out and mounted on pop-dots. Card stock is SU! (certainly celery) stamped with the dotted harlequin from SU!'s Looks Like Spring in SU! craft whisper white. Striped paper is KI Memories, and the sentiment is from SU!'s Sincere Salutations set. Ribbon is SU! 1/4 inch celery grosgrain. Brads are Making Memories. Envie was stamped/colored to match. ;)

Music is a huge part of my life, and my creative process. I'm always listening to something when I sit down to play. :) I hope no one minds that I put up a music player, just for a little while. And since I'm one who always tends to operate in themes, ;) I decided to make this selection a few songs from some of my favorite, less "mainstream" female voices. I hope you enjoy.

Thanks for looking. Have a great weekend! :)

Gorgeous, girl...ya know I love this little beauty! BTW, I just *had* to lift it a second time (!!) and I'm sure it won't be the last. ;)

Smilies? Who, moi?! ;) ;) (I do miss all the smiley options for blog commenting...wish we could use all the 2Peas ones here, LOL.) But the winky is always good, and I know it's welcome here. ;)

Love the music player, keep it. :)

Wonderful card. I love the way you attached the ribbon, so very pretty!

Thanks for your nice comment at my blog. I was amazed too with the origami insects. Robert Lang developed a computer program (engl.?) to mathematically design these beauties, isn't that amazing? He folds them by hand of course. There is a YouTube video where you can see him fold the USA Stars&Stripes, it took him seven days to make it. Can you notice I'm impressed *lol* There was a huge article on him in my newspaper last saturday, that's how I found him in the first place.
