This OLC orginally started out a totally different design... just a simple centered circle with a sentiment through the middle. However, on one card I accidentally stamped the circle slightly OFF-center. :/ (I know, I know... I decide to give my trusty Stamp-A-Ma-Jig the day off, and look what happens? LOL) Not such a big deal if it weren't for the fact that the circle was supposed to be the ONLY design element to the entire card! So its off-centeredness (?) stood at attention screaming, "ME! ME! LOOK AT MEEEEE! I'M CROOKED!!!" LOL
Not only that, but I somehow managed to get a small smudge of red ink just above left of the circle. Which is TOTALLY wierd, because I didn't even have any red ink out on my table at the time the smudge appeared. LOL *shrugs*
I decided to work with what I had, instead of sending it to the circular file, and this is what I came up with:
STAMPS: SU! "Simple Shapes" (circle) and "Sheltering Tree" (trunk), Stampendous oval, and Hero Arts sentiment & heart
INK: SU! Mellow Moss (classic) and Real Red (craft), and Memories Black
MISC: Ranger Stickles in Xmas Red
Certainly nothing spectacular. But by stamping the heart in the left of the tree with a bright, contrasting ink, as well as giving it a little sparkle for texture, the eye is quickly drawn in that direction which makes the circle seem less off-center. (It also helps to disguise it's crookedness to photograph the card at a nice, flattering angle, LOL!) I never can seem to resist a little bling... besides, OLCs often look so... well, flat without a little sum'in sum'in, ya know? ;) Anyway, after learning my lesson, I then put the SAMJ back into play and used it to strategically place the sentiment over the little red smudge. Crisis averted! ;)
Hmm, I definitely have a thing for circles lately. But at least I put an end to the panoramic rut I've been in with the last few cards. Exchanging one rut for another, I guess. LOL
Thanks for the visit and have a great hump day!

Oooh, what a lovely little illustration of "when life hands you lemons, make lemonade!" ("When life hands you off-center circles, make cute trees?"...just somehow does not have the same ring, LOL.) This is fabulously darling, my friend! :)
You sell yourself short, my friend. I happen to *love* this card.
