My first SCS challenge

First off, I'm sorry to disappoint a few of you, but NO... I will NOT be disclosing ANY details of the events leading up to my wrist injury. I'm not one who intentionally seeks out public humiliation, so you can all just entertain yourselves with your imagination. ;)

Although I've wanted to, I've never actually particiapted in any of the challenges over at SCS until now. Yesterday's color challenge (CC153) was tempting Turquoise, Green Galore, and Kraft. SO NOT A FAN of the Bold Brights color family (from which TWO of the challenge colors belong)... is anyone, really? :P

But I decided to give it a shot. Twice! Card #1 (click to see larger):

CARD STOCK: SU's Kraft, Tempting Turquoise, and Green Galore
STAMPS: SU's "Bodacious Bouquet"/"Bodacious" jumbo wheel and "So Many Sayings" ('07 hostess) sentiment, all retired
INK: VersaMark
MISC: Irridescent Ice EP, heat tool, Doodlebug flower sequin, rhinestones, and dimensionals

I wanted to follow the guidelines of the challenge to the 'T', so I didn't use any other neutrals or "grounding" colors... and it didn't turn out too bad. :) As soon as I saw the colors for the challenge, I knew I wanted to use the Irridescent Ice EP in some way - the glitter in the EP contains colors similar to the challenge colors so it coordinates really well. It's difficult to read the sentiment in the picture, which reads, "from me to you". This card is very sparkly IRL which gives great contrast to the natural, textured look of the Kraft paper.

Card #2 (click to see larger)::

CARD STOCK: SU's Whisper White and Kraft
STAMPS: SU's "Bodacious Bouquet"/"Bodacious" jumbo wheel and "So Many Sayings" ('07 hostess) sentiment, all retired
INK: SU's Tempting Turquoise, Green Galore, and Whisper White, all craft
MISC: SU's Irridescent Ice EP, heat tool, paper piercer, SU's piercing template, Unibal Signo white gel pen, Doodlebug flower sequin (cut up to make leaves), SU's Word Window Punch, and dimensionals

This card is the overwhelming favorite here at my house. Of course, the added white really helps everything POP. I always try to put the pierced panels of my card up on dimensionals... it helps to prevent the piercings from going "flat". And I love the teeny tiny leaves. :) One of these cards will go to my sweet niece who was just baptised recently! :D Which one do you like best?

As always, thank you very much for visiting. :) Tomorrow I will post hubster's Valentine's Day card!

Way to rock the challenge...love both cards! You've proven those colors (in reasonable quantities) can be quite pleasant, LOL. I'm not picking a favorite until you spill the beans on the wrist. ;)

OK, first, I have to say that Tami's comment just made me laugh.

I love both cards. Seriously. I cannot pick a favorite. You made perfect use of those colors. In fact, if I saw packages of those cards for sale, I would buy them both.

These are wonderful cards for the challenge! I love the pierced one, and it has a great sentiment for a baptism too.
