Bloomin' Birthday

Wow, another post! That makes three in one week!

**THUD**

I think I just heard you fall out of your seat. LOL ;)

Seriously, since beginning the ginormous task of relocating, my brain has been on overload... there's just SO much to do and many decisions to be made, I find I need to divert my attention for a little bit each day or my head just might implode. LOL And stampin' -n- bloggin' is a great diversion. ;)

Here's a card I made for my super sweet friend, Jenny:

Click to see larger. Images © Stampin' Up! (cake & sentiment are from the "Bloomin' With Happiness" hostess set) and Hero Arts ("Scribble" background).

The card stock colors are Whisper White, Basic Black, Rose Red, and Pretty In Pink, all SU. I used PIP ink to stamp the Scribble background on the PIP card stock and set that aside. I heat embossed the cake on WW card stock and used the RR and PIP markers to color in the flowers. I also used my black Sakura glaze pen to color in the cake plate and yellow Stickles on the candle flames. Then I used my SU Ticket Corner punch on the corners, matted that onto PIP card stock and punched those corners as well. I matted it again on BB card stock, but left the corners in tact and added RR brads instead. I set that piece aside to work on the RR strip, which was matted on BB card stock and pierced, using my SU Crafter's Tool Kit. A little white organdy ribbon seemed to finished the panel off nicely.

Then I grabbed the "Scribbled" PIP background and positioned the two elements on it so I could get an idea of exactly where I wanted to put the sentiment. I used my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig to divide the sentiment lines in order to put the flower in between them... all of which were heat embossed, with the flower colored in to match the flowers in the cake. And here's a testament to the amazing Embossing Buddy... I used it on the cake image, but for got to prep my card stock with it for the sentiment... oops! There was definitely a huge difference. That li'l bag of starch is certainly worth every penny! ;) Anyway, I finally adhered everything, the focal image with pop dots for dimension.

Jenny is truly one of the sweetest people I've had the pleasure to correspond with. We met on Two Peas a few years ago, but only started chatting outside of TwoPeas in the last few months, due to the common bond we share as homeschooling moms. :) My only regret is that we didn't start getting to know one another sooner, as Jenny is a true gem and a VERY talented stamper and scrapper! Be sure to check out her blog and you'll see what I mean! ;) Happy birthday, Jenny, my friend. :)

I'm off to stamp the night away. Maybe I'll have something to post again in a few days! Would you believe it?! :D
