simon says stamp october '13 card kit cards

Howdy, friends! I've got a couple cards from the Simon Says Stamp October '13 card kit for ya tonight.

I was supposed to post this first one last week and totally spaced it. LOL So here it is, with a bonus card to make up for it... :)

I'm in love the with the lined script sentiments in this stamp set! They stretch the full length of a card base. Here, I just stamped it and then fussy cut under it for interest. I also used some of the patterned papers and sequins from the kit.. the sequins are so LUSH! Very opaque, creamy colors with an almost pearlescent look to them. Not your typical "arts-n-crafts" sequins! ;) I just put some gemstones in the centers.

This one is pretty self explanatory.. it took me maybe five minutes to make. :) It would be great to make a set of these as a gift! Just use a different patterned paper background on each one. I thought about adding some enamel dots or something, but chose to leave it as-is. But I did give the li'l birdie an "eye" with my Unibal Signo. :)

There are still some kits left! RUN, and get yours HERE... it's sure to sell out!

Thanks for reading. See you tomorrow with another Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge post! xo

super-sized sunday with the simon says september '13 card kit

Howdy, peeps! Do you like my tongue twister blog post title? :) Finally gotten around to photographing some of the cards I've made with the Simon Says Stamp September '13 card kit, and thought I'd put a bunch into one big blog post for ya.. especially since these all have the same color palette. So, get ready!

The first card is a remake of one I made when I first got the kit, but forgot to photograph before sending it off to someone:

I used the stencil in the kit to carefully cut out a mask from some Eclipse masking paper with my craft knife (as long as your blade is brand-new-sharp and you don't put too much pressure on the stencil as you drag your knife along, you won't cut into the stencil at all). I then used the Colorbox Frost White ink in the kit and sponged it over the mask. Remove the mask, and stamp the sentiment in the resisted area. :)

My next card uses some of the patterned paper, as well as the Studio Calico wood veneers in the kit:

I again used the stencil to cut out a banner, but this time from some of the kraft card stock. I then heat embossed the sentiment before adhering it with pop dots. I also punched out some squares from some of the chalkboard-looking patterned paper as mats for my veneer shapes. :)

And finally:

A real quick and easy one! Just some simple stamping with some Hero Arts inks: Black, Wet Cement, and Soft Sand. They go perfectly with the kraft card stock. :)

Alrighty, that's it from me today.. whew! See you again soon with something from the NEW October '13 card kit! Thanks for reading! :)

more from the simon says stamp july '13 card kit

Hello, again! Back with another card from the July card kit.... :)

I used sketch #252 from the Clean & Simple Stamping blog as my design. As soon as I saw it posted last Friday, I knew it would be PERFECT for the elements in the kit! The card base is a Hero Arts Punch note card, and the inks are also all Hero: Red Royal and Punch for the frosting, Butter Bar for the cake, and Black for the wrapper. And I thought it might be fun to use the leftover dot pieces from the pre-punched adhesive border strip as part of my design... think of them as sprinkles, or confetti... something festive. :)

The July '13 card kit is sold out, but you can go HERE to get several of the elements of the kit separately. And while you're there, SIGN UP for the monthly subscription so you don't miss out on future kits! They really are an amazing value, and SO well put-together.

That's it from me... thank you for reading today. Have a great day!

8.05.2013

hello... :)

Hi, friends! Just a quick Simon Says Stamp July 2013 card kit share today... :)

This is such a fun kit... what am I saying, they're all fun. LOL But this one is super festive. I *love* the stamp set in this one, which you can get by itself HERE. I used all Hero Arts inks to match the colors in the kit (RED ROYAL and BUTTER BAR and TIDE POOL) and stamped the dotted line in a fun, random pattern for the background... totally happy with how it came out. The stickers ("Hello") are also from the kit, found separately HERE.

Thanks for reading! See you soon. :)

eternally grateful - more SSS card kit

Hello again! I'm back with another card from the Simon Says Stamp May '13 card kit...

..again with the kraft (it just pairs so well with the colors/papers in the kit), but this time I used papers from the chartreuse side of the collection. And I used the gorgeous stamps in the kit, too... did a little paper piecing with the rose and leaf images. :)

Thanks again for reading today. Be back tomorrow with my card for the new Simon Says Stamp challenge! :)

i love you - retro sketch challenge and SSS may card kit

Hi, friends! Happy Memorial Day! :)

I love the Retro Sketches challenges! So I decided to break into my Simon Says Stamp May 2013 card kit (I know, I'm behind a little LOL) and play along with this week's challenge. First, here's the sketch:

And here's my card:

The kit came with some great pre-made sentiments, so I picked this one, and this lovely plaid paper to match. I also used a couple of the chipboard hearts from the kit and covered them with the Liquid Pearls. They look really cool in person...

..like enamel or cloisonne! :)

That's it from me today. Thank you for stopping by... see you soon!

simon says stamp april '13 card kit - amazing birthday!

Hi, friends! I finally have a card from the Simon Says Stamp April '13 card kit to show you! :)

A bit of a confession... I've never really been into card kits. I was always afraid that I wouldn't totally love/use enough of the kit contents to justify the cost... after all, it is someone else who's selecting the contents for you. ;) HOWEVER, the Simon kits really are amazing... and each kit is better than the last! So, I decided to jump on board... better late than never, hee. :)

As for my card, I decided to play along with the most recent sketch challenge going on over at SplitCoast Stampers. Here's the sketch (the challenge thread can be found HERE):

And here's my card using the kit (I changed the orientation from landscape to portrait):

I instantly fell in love with the colors and patterns in this kit - so fresh and springy and trendy. STUNNING stamp set, too! Holy cow... I can tell this one will definitely be a staple on my craft desk! The kit is of course sold out at this point, but if you follow my link above to the stamp set, you'll find the other goodies that came in the kit that you can still purchase separately. And make sure you go HERE and get signed up for the monthly kits. May's kit is also now sold out, but if you hurry, you can get in on the June kit! It really is an amazing value and as a recent card kit convert, I promise you won't regret it! ;)

Thanks for popping in and for your lovely comments. See you tomorrow with a new Simon Says Stamp challenge post! :)
