simon says... it's the kids' summer vacation challenge :)

Hello again! I have a special post for you today...

..time for the little ones to take a break inside from the summer heat and get crafty! The theme is Anything Goes, with the option of ICE - ice cream, ice skating, snow, etc.

Entrants must be between 2 and 16 years old, and are allowed to enter as many times as they like! We will have 3 FABULOUS prizes for 3 randomly-drawn entrants: they could win a Simon's Grab Bag, full of crafty goodies... YAY! :)

My little Emmy was excited to play along... inspired by the ICE theme, she made this card:

It's an adorable image from Stamps Happen. After stamping, she colored with colored pencils. :) Blue is her favorite color, and it definitely contributes to the frosty feel! And the clean and simple design...*swoon* she's a girl after my own heart. :)

Hi, everybody, and happy Friday! :) I'm back with a couple more cards my (7 year old) daughter Emily made for the current Children's Challenge over at Simon Says Stamp!


In case I haven't already told you, Emily is my mini-me when it comes to stamping and paper crafting. She LOVES it. On her first card seen HERE, I let her have free reign in my craft room, using any of my supplies that inspired her. But this time, she decided she wanted to use all of her own supplies:

Don't you love it?! I'm so proud of her. :) She has her own Cricut machine, and cut out some of the hearts all by herself (the other is fussy cut). I love how she chose the sentiment specifically because of the hearts. She pointed it out to me explaining, "See all the hearts? That's why I picked the 'Love to You' stamp!" *SWOON*

 Yeah, I know, I'm a little biased. LOL ;)

For her next card, she decided to do a little dry embossing with her Sizzix SideKick (an old Sizzix machine that only cuts and embosses with smaller dies and embossing folders, like Sizzlits) and did a holiday card:

She added some sparkly snowflake stickers from her stash, along with some glitter glue (much like Stickles), which warped her paper a bit and is terribly difficult to photograph. :/ I just love how she used two shades of green paper!

The Children's Challenge is still going strong, but only until the end of August. Two winners will be randomly drawn from the entries to win this amazing Junior Stamper kit that Heidi has put together:

This Children's Summer Holidays/Back to School challenge is specifically for children between the ages of 2 and 16 years of age. Time to let your children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and any other special young ones in your life loose in your craft rooms! :)

In celebration of crafting with our kids, we've developed this "Junior Stamper" kit targeted for ages 4 through 14 years. The kit includes whole assortment of products:

simon says... anything goes - FOR THE KIDS! :)

Hi, everybody! I have a very special post today... the Simon Says Stamp challenge blog is having a challenge just for the kids! :D


And I have two young girls who were THRILLED when asked if they wanted to participate. ;) I told them they could use just about anything in my craft room (as opposed to just their collection of my no longer used hand-me-down stamps) and here is what they came up with:


This card was made by my 10 year old daughter Ariana. Can you believe how STRAIGHT she stamped the image and the sentiment?! And she must be my daughter, with that clean and simple, one-layered card. :)


And this one is by my seven year old daughter, Emily. Emily is my little card making protegee. She's already got a thing for fussy cutting, heehee! ;) I love how she has the bird talking to the butterfly. She has made some fabulous designs before... maybe I will post them here from time to time!

And now, do you have a young one in your life (ages 2-16) who loves to craft or stamp? Is it too hot outside for them to enjoy their summer break?
