A super sweet friend of mine sent me a bunch of adorable ric-rac a while back and I'm finally feeling brave enough to start cutting into it. (Thanks, Tami! :) Ya know I love ya, girl! *Smooches*) She sent three kinds - one with green flowers on it, one with blue flowers on it, and one with pink and orange flowers on it. Obviously I used some of the green ric-rac on this card. LOL I knew I wanted to do some sort of color blocking with it and this is what eventually emerged. There's a lot of techniue and texture on here IRL (the ric-rac, heat embossing, dimensional adhesive), so I wanted to keep the color scheme simple and monochromatic. I know it's a little over the top in the green department, (hubster says that it looks like a great card for St. Patty's Day :P LOL) and I tried putting in little flecks of color (like yellow) here-n-there just to break it up a bit, but honestly, it just made it even busier than it already is. LOL It took on a life of its own, what can I say? ;)
- STAMPS: Flowers and sentiment - Stampin' Up! (From their sets 'Simply Said' 'Border Builders', and 'Best Blossoms' respectively). Solid flower block - Paper Inspirations.
- INKS: Colorbox Pigment in Fresh Green and VersaMagic Pigment Chalk in Aloe Vera.
- MISC: Clear embossing powder, ric-rac, and pop dots. (In case it's not obvious from the scan, the center mat - the one with the sentiment on it - is where I used the pop dots... just for a little dimension.)
I still haven't completed anything I feel is worthy of the
color challenge over at
Two Peas, but I'm gonna change that today. ;)

Wow, you totally matched the ric-rac perfectly. It looks like it was made to match. :)

Oh my goodness, how fun to see this! What a fab design!! I can't believe the way you matched the stamped floral blocks to the ric-rac...dang!! My ric-rac is not worthy. ;)

Thank you, girls! :) I had fun with this one.
This is great! I never seem to have much luck with monochromatic layouts but this is lovely with all the different flowers!!
